For some time now I have been getting emails from customers who have been telling me their cycling story and why they purchased decals from us. Some are about how they wanted to renovate a bike, or asked for guidance on stencils or sizing etc. But above all they are unique and individual to each person and their story always touches me.
I feel the work we do here at Decal Zone not only helps to preserve a bike or gives it a lease of new life but our customers are kind considerate people who love bikes and cycling and are absolutely genuine and happy we exist to support them and their projects.
This all got me thinking and gave inspiration to setting up this section “Customer Stories” and how timely that I received the following message from Ruben to kick it off.

I wanted to share what drove me to buy my new set of decals:
As a cyclist, I absolutely love nature, mountains (I live in Switzerland these days, originally from the Netherlands), forests, lakes — and exploring all of these. With the impact we’re making as humans and how visible this is to me, having travelled all over the world (glaciers retreating, plastic pollution, drought, and more), I’m very concerned about the future of our ecosystems.
Mostly the fact that some of this beauty won’t be available for others to enjoy. I cannot stomach the feeling how selfish this is and for me riding and exploring is only so rewarding when you can share it. If I cycle through a beautiful place which I cannot share with others, what’s the point? So I’m trying to inspire others as well, by organising the Swiss Climate Classic for instance and to Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle cycling related products.
But obviously, like everyone, I love a shiny, cool, and fast-looking bike as well — that’s why I bought my Canyon in the first place! With the bike being five years old but still working perfectly, and with so many friends getting new bikes and upgrades, I felt the urge to join in… which brought me a dilemma. Luckily, seeing Pogacar (with his ENVE wheels) and Mathieu van der Poel (with a similar Canyon and white decals) gave me the idea to give my bike a pro look with your decals — and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
The bike now looks and feels new again, and I’m sure it’ll last another 3–5 years. For someone who cares about the climate, that’s such a satisfying outcome that I almost want to tell the whole world about it!
